Hi Glasgow mums, can you give me any suggestions for Saturday lunch venues in the West End/Merchant City/Buchanan Street area? 4 Edinburgh mums escaping for the day and we'd like somewhere nice for a grown-up lunch. Any ideas please?

Thanks

Sandwich Mum

Princes Square. (off Buchanan St)

Lots of nice places on Byres Road.

Lots of nice places in the Merchant City.

Sorry to be vague.

Oh yes, yes to princes square, lots of lovely places to eat and drink there.
I love Amore just down from merchant square.
Browns is really nice for a meal and cocktails, but quite expensive. It's just off George Square.
The Corinthian does nice food too.

Sloans is lovely for lynch. Not posh but fantastic food. Or upstairs Mrs Sloans for afternoon tea.

Thank you ladies. Will pass ideas on to the gang. Looking forward to child-free lunch and cocktail-fuelled chat.

Cheers!

The social in exchange square is lovely for cocktails. Esp if the weather is nice as you can sit out

Cafe Gandolfi in Merchant city is infamous for it's seafood. Crabshakk in West end you'd have to make a booking for but is in demand also.

Browns is fab, lovely surroundings and interesting menu - sister restaurant to Browns of London.

This is too far out for you but as a wee aside, you know Dobbies - their cakes are amazing! Anyone near one with a cafe should go there for afternoon tea. I ate no breakfast or lunch, went to Dobbies for tea and cake and couldn;t finish the cake it was so huge and rich. at memory.

Enjoy your day OP

MMMMmmmmm

All of Mrs Cumberbatche's ideas are favourites of mine!!

If It's a light lunch and cakes you're after FiFi and Allie is nice too.

Wherever you go you'll have a ball.

Enjoy your lunch!

Number 16 on Byres road
The Sisters in Kelvingrove
