Guildford Olympic Torch Relay Tickets

Anyone got some spares? I only just found out on the bbc news that you needed to apply for the free tickets and guess what - they've all sold out Shock. I live right on Stoke Park and I haven't been able to get any tickets to the events, so I'm mega disappointed it wasn't advertised that you had to get tickets, I only heard that it was going to be a free event. It's a shambles really, I'm really upset that they're having a party on my doorstep and I wasn't even invited Sad.

Sorry, I only have enough tickets for the four of us (even babies need one each). Apparently they went within 15-20 minutes?

Maybe you could try to see the relay from the road beforehand?

The Olympics is bringing a lot of revenue to the area, with the cycling and all of the teams staying at the University and training at Surrey Sports Park.

The event in the park had to be ticketed for health and safety. You clearly care enough about the Olympics to want to see the relay and go to the event?

I'm not going to comment further.

I'm not disputing the fact that you need tickets, just that it wasn't really made clear that you did need tickets, or where to get them. I cycle past the park every single day and there is not a single sign about it. Just me being disorganised again I guess... Maybe I'll just head down anyway and see if I can buy one, someone must have spares!

It was in the local paper, on Eagle and the schools all sent out info. The tickets went very fast. I'm sure they could have expanded it, and some of the businesses are probably not going to make as much as they would have liked. (We didn't get tickets either, phoned too late.)

However you can watch the relay go past for free, and the art installation in Stoke park is going to be there for a few days at least, with free entry after tomorrow. Admittedly London Road looks like a country lane with the amount of Mud on it.

The mud left from Guilfest is horrific, isn't it? I hate to see what it's going to be like after tomorrow Hmm
