DD went to a mini tennis festival yesterday with lots of other city schools and today I have been given a letter from Hills Road saying she has been selected by their high performance coaches as having a talent Shock They want her to go in the summer holdays for four weeks then twice a week in septmeber to train. The thing is she has never shown any interest at all Grin she's 6. Has anyone elses dc been through this/going through this? Don't really know what to do...

That sounds great. I have no experience of this sort of thing, but why not let her have a go and see. She may really take to it, or she may not. She can always stop at any time but this is a great opportunity for her :)

Just so unexpected! She is a completely non sporty child - I thought!!

I read that Andy Murray's brother trained there as a teenager, so they must be geared up for some quite serious tennis, but I'm sure the emphasis is on fun at age 6. What's your DD's opinion on this? Just careful you don't turn into the classic over-bearing tennis parent : )

Oh god, no I don't want to do that! We're going to talk to her tonight and see what she thinks. There's no way I'll put her through tons of stress if she's not going to enjoy it.
