Hi all,
I have recently moved to Westbury on Trym. I have a 2 1/2 year old, and looking for advice and recommendations on where to go and what to do. I lived nearby a few years ago for a year, but didn't have a little one then, so places I went were very different! Would be good to meet some mums and dads too as we have moved away from 'home' and those people I got to know when my daughter was a baby.
Been to a few groups in the last week, but would like your words of wisdom!
Thank you :)

Hi - hope you are enjoying living in Westbury. My two children are at school now, but the groups they used to go to included Jack in a Box (toddler gym class at Bradbury Hall Henleaze), St Peters toddler group (mon and fri St Peter's church hall Henleaze), Wiggles and Giggles (Westbury Methodist church, most days now I think). There is also WOTS TOTS but I am not sure if there is a waiting list.... Cairns Rd toddler cafe....Venue 35 on Stoke lane has a toddler play area bit at the back....Canford Park, always full of local families. .

Does your little one go to pre-school/nursery? My 2 went to Jack and Jill and would highly recommend it - other friends have used the Reedley Rd Baptist Church pre-school and been very happy with it.

Hope you meet people soon and feel settled in the area.

There is a very nice group called IMPS at the Community Church near WOT village - is worth getting in touch as they jump you to the top of the list if you have moved from out of the area.

Ahh thank you for the advice. I took my daughter to Jack in the box, wiggles and giggles and she really liked those groups, so looking at booking them for next term.
She doesn't go to pre-school/nursery yet, I had heard good things about Jack and Jill's and Westbury Baptist Pre-school. Probably a random question, do you know the difference between a pre-school and a playgroup, as my friends children went to a playgroup where we were before, and it was £7 a session, compared to £18 for 3 hours at Reedley road, so I am guessing there must be a difference?!
Thank you for your replies.

If you want more of a traditional playgroup try Falloden Way playgroup in Henleaze, in the scout hut by the doctor's surgery. It is more of a free for all with less structured stuff like group work and I don't think you can use it as your free entitlement, but that might have changed. It used to be about £6 for 9.15 - 12 but that was a few years ago. Was Reedley rd £18 after the nursery grant is taken off or is that for under 3's?

Thank you. Reedley road is £18 from age 3 they take them, and then if you want to use the 15 hours you can, so they do 9-12 or 9-1 with lunch, so in theory could used your 15 hours 5 mornings a week from 9-12.
