HARPENDEN SCHOOLS PETITION

Hi everyone - I'm quite new to the area, having moved down from Scotland a few months ago, but hope you don't mind me posting.

There have been some problems with school allocations in Harpenden this year, with almost a third of kids not getting a place at one of their ranked choices. The local parent group asked me to write a quick blog post about it, linking to a petition that they've organised. I am new on this forum and we live in Ireland. I am contactting you because I read that you just moved into Harpenden from Scotland few months ago. Please if you don't mind, please I will need your help with regards to getting schools for my 3 kids. I am a single mom and we have visited Harpenden and we are planning to move next year. I am however confronted with the admission process. I was at the local council and they told me that I have to be living in the area to secure admissions. I have an application that I have to complete by October for my oldest son who is going to year next sept 2013 but I have no address in Harpenden that I can use. Please what advice can you give me? Please excuse me bumping into you just like that. I will really appreciate any idea. Thanks.
