OH MY WORD. Just had a nightmare conversation with the lady from the Family Information Service to tell her what days I'll be needing at Sale Rd and they just told me that it's closing in September - just when my DD is due to start. WTF. OMG and plenty of other 3 letters. At the moment there is no private provision taking over the centre either. Apparently I should have got a letter. Nice.

1. Where else is there in Northenden that does nursery?
2. Childminders - any thoughts?
3. and just a general ARRRRRGGGHH

Try childcarelink.gov.uk and type in your area, it shows all kinds of childcare provision with links to websites and Ofsted.
For childminders, ask in school playgrounds (esp. The school you expect your DC to attend) for good childminders, there are usually a few about, and you can see them "at work" not putting up a front.
