Hi,

I am a member of a parents group in Harpenden, Herts who are concerned about our county councils response to the current and continuing increase in the numbers of children of school age. The situation in Harpenden is pretty bad, over the last two years about 70 children have either not been allocated a school at all on allocation day or given a school place they don't want.

We formed last year and now in our second year have concerns about planning, engagement and communication with parents about what is happening.
We are in contact with the local authority and councillors but would welcome contact from other parents groups across the country and paricularly in Hertfordshire. If you are a member of such a group please respond, we need tips on your sucesses!

Hi there!

Just wanted to add that the situation is also the same in Hertford. An absolute disgrace that has continued to happen each and every year.

One of the primary schools here was shut in 2003 as they projected the needed spaces forward to 2011 but every year since 2003 there were clearly not enough spaces. Now in 2012 they are planning building a new school :-/

Something has got to give.
