New mum with no friends with baby

I gave birth to my beautiful daughter 2 weeks ago and am getting to the point now I'd like to start socialising with other mums/babies. My problem is out of my circle of friends I'm the only one with a baby and whilst I still want to see them I'm worried they won't understand lots of aspects of my life now I'm a mummy. It would also be nice to spend time with people that don't want to just hold my baby!

I'm in st Thomas and have westexe centre in very close proximity to me but would like other ways to meet people too. At the risk of sounding awful, my DH and I are a professional couple and the impression I get from the bump to babies course we did there, is that I'm not sure I'd have much in common with the majority of children's centre users. If anyone can help out a lonely new mummy I'd love to meet up.

Anyway, I have an idea of how you are feeling.

A couple of us on here are planning to go to Hub on the Green on Tue at around 1.30 - the Babychino and NCT groups seem to meet there on alternate weeks.

If you're free maybe you could come along?

Dont worry it doesnt sound awful, i had the same thought about the people there too. we went to the baby club on a friday afternoon which was lovely but not my type of people...

I went to the Hub today and it was lovely. Very low key and chilled with other like minded mums and babies. Well worth a try. Maybe see you there next week?

The NCT group starts at 1.30 on Tues. Not certain about the Babychino one though, but seem to remember it's a similar time.

If you fancy it, you could come along to the inaugural wine book club meet-up on Mon night if you're free!

I'd love to come to the book/wine club but as my DD is currently ebf on demand I can't really leave her at the moment. Give it another few weeks and I can start expressing and then leave her with daddy! Muah ha ha, he won't know what's hit him when she gets left with him for a couple hours!
