My son is a keen gymnast, but would like to join a group where there are a fair number of boys as well as girls. Any recommendations?
Thank you!

How serious a group do you want?

My dd has been going to the Park Sports Centre at Holton for five years specifically because it is pretty laid-back. By this I mean things like this: Parents are allowed to sit and watch (and they do, and they chat, and it's all very friendly). She doesn't get told off for haphazard attendance - we go camping a lot and she goes to birthday parties and chess tournaments and things because gymnastics is not the focus of her life. The kids mess around a bit socialise while queueing for the apparatus and she has made some good friends there. There is no uniform unless they go in for competitions. It is also pretty big so you have several time slots to choose from, which is convenient. Her classes have always been about 10-15% boys.

So if that sort of thing appeals to you then I'd recommend it highly. However, if your son is very ambitious and hard-working and lives for gymnastics, he'd undoubtedly progress faster at a club like Radley or the one that meets at Cherwell School or the one at Thame.
