Possibly setting up childminding - Orpington

Hi,

I am a paediatric nurse who is thinking of a slight career change and setting up as a childminder in Orpington. Now I realise there is registration to deal with and certificates to gain. That part I am looking into but I am more interested in asking local mums what they look for in a childminder and how easy it is to find what they want.

What hours to they expect childern to be looked after for? How many days a week? How do they find childminders? What has drawn them to a particular childminder? What activities do they expect for their children?

Currently just in early stages of thinking but always good to know your target market so any advice, thoughts, ideas very welcome!

Thanks :-)

I'm not looking for an Orpington based cm, but I will be looking for one later in the year that is flexible and willing to do very early and late shifts in line with my shifts.
