Nursery Monitoring and Evaluation

We are moving from London to Edinburgh in July and I am trying to get my head around nursery options for our DSs, aged 2 and 4. Obviously we wouldn't choose a nursery without visiting but I thought I would just read up on what's in the area. Here in London I was able to read recent OFSTED reports (whatever their limitations) on all the nurseries in the area. I think HMIE is the equivalent, but when I try to find reports on the nurseries, not all are covered and some are from 2005! Am I missing something? Any advice on where to find the government evaluations?

And of course if anyone has any views on Bruntsfield/Morningside nurseries I would be very keen to hear them!

Sorry don't know any nurseries in that area but, for private nurseries inspections check the wwwcareinspectorate. This is equivalent to OFSTED.
HMIE will cover school nurseries which your wee ones can attend when they are 3 years old.

Well regarded Bruntsfield/Morningside area nurseries include The Corner House, Bruntsfield House and Bright Horizons Bruntsfield Nursery on Blantyre Terrace. I've got friends with kids at all three who are all happy.

I hear not so good things about Rainbow Kids nursery.

Forbes Childrens Nursery in Forbes Road too.

My Son is in The Montessori nursery over on libertin Brae, however probably about a ten minute drive. There is The corner House nursery and allo George watsons nursery.
