Relocating.. need advice on Farnham!

We are likely to be relocating to Farnham in the next couple of months as my 12 yr old will be attending More House in Frensham. I also have 10 yr old who has another year at primary school and we'll then need a secondary for him from Sept 2013.

Am petrified about moving as have been in Tunbridge Wells for 15 yrs BUT we have no choice as he needs to be in a specialist school and has just been statemented. Having had a look around it seems really nice and suits our outdoorsy lifestyle and hubby can commute to London.

What's the lowdown on schools, best areas to live and villages? etc etc We'll be renting to begin with.
Thanks a million :-)

I'm in a similar position, my kids are 5 and 8 but I have no idea where is good to live in Farnham.

I would love any advice on nice family friendly areas to live. Thanks

Hi ladies
I've lived in Farnham most of my life and taught in Farnham for the last few years. I recommend the south of Farnham is best place to live as that's near More House also Weydon is a great school, though in the north, Farnham Heath End is improving all the time and All Hallows catholic school is good too - good choice of secondary schools in Farnham! Rowledge is a gorgeous village with a lovely primary school and close to Farnham, also the Bourne is lovely but expensive as near Weydon and that catchment is an expensive area. Frensham is also lovely but a bit far from station. the great thing about the Bourne is easy access to the station and also great houses and great school, all depending on budget!
Hope that helps :)

I've lived in Farnham all my life and would endorse much of what Happy Chick say's. Weydon has a great reputation but Farnham has very good schools in general, both private and state. The Bourne is a lovely area but expensive.
Rowledge is near 'Alice Holt Forest' a lovely local beauty spot and we have lovely countryside around here. Tilford is a lovely village but a little further out.

I do hope you will be happy here it's a lovely area with a rich history.
