What to do in Salisbury with 6 yr old?

I have to take DS to Salisbury hospital next week so I said we'd stay there for the day and do something nice. But what? I've been once, a couple of years ago but can't remember it well.

Any suggestions? Or places to eat? Is there an ASK? (I have vouchers!)

(Have posted this in Days out too - sorry for 2 threads)

There is an ASK, it's next to the library. Salisbury museum is apparently good for kids or visit the cathedral? Elizabeth Gardens is nice if it's not raining, there is a river with islands you can get onto, kids park and ice-cream van Smile There is also a lovely old cinema if it's wet and you fancy that.

Sounds perfect, thank you Smile

Has anyone been following the debate about how govt isn't supporting mums to take care of their little ones - they'd prefer babes to be in childcare from a very early age it seems. Seems odd when you think how important attachment and family life is.
