There is a great park at Sciennes, huge and amazzinggg!
The museum of course - amaaaazing too and the children can interact with exhibits....actually this is my top choice.

The museum of childhood on the royal mile. If its a nice day there is a lovely park at the west end of princes street. Open top bus tour always goes down well with my lot.

That's great thanks!
The park at sciennes - is that a playpark? Is it part of the meadows?

Is the park at the west of princes st down in the gardens?

Almond Valley near Livingston - bit further away but brilliant day out even if it rains. It has animals, playgrounds, train rides, softplay, good cafe, museum - everything!

And, for those of you who dinnae ken - the Scottish Parliament has a free creche.

You can't leave the building, but there's a nice cafe (assuming you don't wish to liase with your MSP or watch a debate) where you can leave your 6 weeks to 6 years kids for up to 4 hours FOR NOTHING!

Google the website, book in, have a coffee and some peace and quiet.

Tell Hazel I said hi.

It's your civic duty to keep these people in a job. Go!
