Evening ladies, I am considering moving back to st. Albans after nearly 10 years away, as my marriage has recently come to an end :(. Initially I will be renting and cannot afford massive rents. I have found a maisonette up for rent above the shops at the quadrant which looks quite roomy but I can't recall what the area is like would any of you be able to shed any light?

Hello, a bit late but I live nearby and I know someone who lives above the shops. It's a nice area. A mix of posh and not so posh houses, GREAT schools primary and secondary, useful shops, and a lovely nearby playground.

I have a friend who live there (may be her old flat) she seemed to like it.

Thank you, I know the schools are pretty good (much better than the area I am in now for sure) and I was fortunate enough myself to have been a pupil at Sandringham....although I'm sure its changed in the x years since I left!

I don't know what it was like in your days but Sandringham is still a good school.

The Quadrant is quite nice. No yobbish behaviour, if that is what you are worrying about.
