Strike a Coin

Just wanted to let people know that Museum on the Mound, the Bank Museum, is doing strike a coin between 2.30 and 4pm until Sunday. My 2 had a ball at the museum and it filled an empty afternoon. They enjoyed making their own coin.

We all went yesterday and struck our own coins! The children enjoyed it and are very proud of their coins, but the museum was a bit dry for my youngest (she is only 4 though!). They also had a great time doing one of the trails at the National Gallery beforehand.

I found it a bit claustropobic for my liking. But it kept the children amused for a while.

I think the museum on the mound is great, but I have to say that the whole banking crisis has rather taken the shine off the "proud of the Scottish banking tradition" aspect of it for me. I suppose it's just "interested in the Scottish banking tradition" from now on...
