(also posted in the Warwick section)
hello, we are probably going to be relocating later this year due to husband's job move. We used to live in Banbury about 10 years ago, so I do know the area a bit, but we didn't have kids then, so have very different requirements now!
Does anyone have any recommendations for large villages that have decent primary schools (and ideally an attached preschool??). We'll also need a childminder (so sad to be leaving ours!) but going to cross one bridge at a time! We have a 3.5 year old and a 9 month old.
Any suggestions very gratefully received. Needs to be within 30-40 mins commute (ideally) of Gaydon. thank you

Wroxton village school has a reasonable reputation, a few friends use the school now and all are happy with their children's progress. I've not visited it though so you'd have to do a bit research. A bit further up the same road is north newington preschool, again this had a very good reputation but I never investigated as didn't have a car to get there.

Trying to think of other schools on the right side of banbury for Gaydon. How about looking at Cropedy?

A bit nearer stratford is Ettington - take the Wroxton road towards stratford. I quite like ettington. has a very good school and pre-school. it has a very "healthy" community, lots of community activities - mainly led via the pre-school committee to raise funds. there's a couple of good pubs and a very nice hotel, a little village shop. My sister lived there for a while and enjoyed her "country pad" as she called it (she lived in london in the week and spent weekends there)

You could look over towards middleton cheney, farthinghoe, even brackley as you'd still be able to do Gaydon in 30/40mins easy by joining the M40 at J11 in rush hour. The usual traffic issues are post Gaydon, more J15 during rush hour going north.

Mine all out of childminder stage now but the children's centres are very good at providing this sort of information. The central one is in brittania road, banbury.
