Hi
Can anyone suggest a playgroup for the under fives in or near Newington?
We are scoping out a move to Edinburgh and are visiting in May. We thought it would be nice to try a playgroup and do things that the locals do!
Lived in Edinburgh for 5 years about 15 years ago so I know nothing about family life in the city.
What good things can you share?!
Thanks

There is one at the Mayfield Salisbury church - I don't have any experience of it but know it's there as I used to take DD to a great messy play/ art class at the same venue. Also recommend Jack & Jill music class in Marchmont.

Edinburgh for the Under Fives is a good resource for all sorts of stuff - new edition came out last yr I think.

Hope the move comes to fruition - we moved back here last year after 15y away so I understand how you feel. Good luck!

Used to go to the Mayfield Salisbury one with DD and it was fantastic and really friendly, I am sure it still is :)

Hi. Thanks for the ideas - although googling I can only see a playschool/nursery type thing at the church and nothing on a "stay and play" or similar session where we wouldn't leave them on their own.
Am I looking at the wrong thing?

Sorry, I got it wrong, she went to the preschool there but it was the drop in one at St Peter's Church on Lutton place I meant! Has been a long day :)

Great - thanks! I've tracked that down on google and it looks like it will only be 10 minutes from where we are staying.

There's one meets on Tuesday mornings at St Catherine's Church at the top of Chalmers Crescent. 10 - 1145, and good biscuits.
