Hi. Does anyone know when the council notify parents of the new intake for P1 places for this year? And do they tell you how many are expected in each class?

If it's out of catchment it's usually the week after the Easter Holiday or round about then. Our school often hasn't told any of the parents what the expected in each class is until induction day. I know last year the parents out of catchment were told how many out of catchment places were allocated which was just 1.

Thanks grovee. We're catchment and it's stockbridge primary. I know last year they were oversubscribed and tried to shunt some kids into other schools initially. I don't think there was a problem in the end but still a bit anxious! When is induction day, do you know?

Varies from school to school. Ours do it at the last friday before the end of term which is a long time to wait.

we heard from Sciennes in May at the time (7 years ago, so this may have changed!)

Last year they came out on the same day as the secondary letters and that was a week early.
