Hi there, I am new to mumsnet but hoping to find someone to help me!

We are relocating to Leeds in August and so need a nursery for ds who will be 19 months by then.

We are thinking of living in Roundhay as that seems to get lots of good reviews and both working in Leeds. The 2 nurseries I am looking at at the moment are Primley Park in Roundhay and also Candystripe inc at Harrogate Road nursery.

Anyone with any experience of these nurseries I would very much appreciate your comments.

Thanks!!

Becki

My DD attends Little People in Bramley... Different site, same group. Hopefully it's still useful information. I think the three sites are quite similar? She adores it there and we've been very happy with the nursery.

She's attended since she was 9 months old and is currently 22 months, so has been through the baby and the toddler rooms. Both have excellent facilities including outdoor space that they try and use daily. (Though not today, I expect...given the rain!)

The staff have all been lovely, including the office staff for sorting out payments and such. Statements are helpfully emailed monthly. The keyworkers are very good at feeding back and the progress reports are very thorough, with lots of lovely photographs. The activities are varied and interesting, as well as tailored for each childs needs. For example if a child expresses an interest in trains, they'll go out of their way to include a train related activity during the day.

We see the food arriving sometimes in the morning, crates of fresh fruit and vegetables as everything is made on site by the chefs. The meals they get all sound delicious! They do lots of cooking and baking with the kids too, DD brings home something delicious on seemingly a weekly basis.

Lots of art and craft too, some bits brought home but lots of it up all over the walls at nursery. They work with parents for key events like fathers day or mothers day, so you can come in and make something with your child. They'll also help the child make something special on days before grandparents visit or such.

They're fairly relaxed regarding illnesses. They don't exclude at the first sign of a sniffle but do keep you up to date if you or they have concerns. For things like conjunctivitis, as long as the child has seen the doctor and been given drops they're still allowed to attend. You can sign calpol forms ahead of time if you suspect it might be needed. It's three strikes for vomit and/or loose nappies.

We've had no concerns regarding safety and security. DD very occasionally gets nicks and bruises, part of being a toddler, but nothing of any concern.

Hope all that helps a bit! :)
