Toddler and baby activities in Guildford

Hi all.

I'm moving to Guildford in May after living overseas and need a little help. My DS 2.8 won't be starting pre-school until this coming September, so I'd like to get him enrolled in some local activities to bridge the gap (he's used to 3 full days in daycare so will need it!). I've had a look online and a few things are coming up, but it's hard to know what's good and what isn't.

Ideally I'd like to find a decent playgroup, a sports group (is Little Kickers any good?) and perhaps one other - craft/music/drama?.

I also have a DD 6mo and would like to find a music group or something similar that is suitable for babies.

We'll be living fairly centrally to start with - possibly around the Wodeland Ave area.

Any recommendations appreciated.
Thanks!

There are lots and lots of Toddler groups, mainly based at Churches book although a few years old should be able to give you some contacts. For most you just go along. There are also free magazines in the library which often have lists of activities. Joining the library would probably be the best place to start, and the children's section is very used to noisy small people.

Yy to that book.

Gymnastics factory is fantastic.

Surestart centre in town, toddler splash at the spectrum.

Tuesday mornings there is a fab music group that runs out of the church in Wood Street Village. It's called 'Sing-a-Song-of-Sixpence. Here's the website. I can't recommend it highly enough Grin

Oh and it's only £4.50 a family, so you can take both kiddies along Smile

Thanks so much for all your thoughts! This is great. Both the music group, gym and busy lizzy look fantastic and I've looked in to swimming classes as well.
Thanks again x

Surrey Sports Park (by the hospital and Tesco) do great baby activities most mornings. My DD goes to Baby Ballet on a Wed, but they also do another dance group, yoga and squash...

Excellent - thanks for the extra tips AllOverIt! That looks great too. No it will be hard trying to decide what to do!
