Can anyone advise? I'm moving into Lenzie area and have to decide between sending my dd to Lenzie Academy or St Ninian's High. Does anyone have any experience or views?

I'm going purely on hearsay here, so hopefully some one will come along with better information! They both have execellent reputations academically. I have heard rumours about drug problems at Lenzie, but I really can't stress the word rumours enough there! I do know couples who have gone to some lengths to get their child into both schools.

Hope this is even semi-useful!

Ummm...presumably one is non-denominational and the other is RC, so if you're RC then I guess you have a choice, but if you're not, then would you really consider sending your dd to a religious school?

The drugs situation was pretty bad when I was at Lenzie less than ten years ago and and I am not aware of it improving since.
St Ninians and Kirkintilloch High have both been rebuilt in the last five years and have top facilities, Lenzie Academy is in a fifty year old building with some extensions.
St Ninians is linked up with Celtic in a sceme where the youth team footballers go to the school and the school gets to use Celtic's traning grounds in Lennoxtown.
