Can anyone recommend a good and reasonable plumber? We need some work done on toilets and a washing machine. Thanks in advance.

Not sure if they are still operating but my ex-boyfriend's dad owned Haggart Plumbing in Morningside. They were very good and reliable - won't rip you off.

This was about 10 years ago though - they may have been taken over.

An architect friend told me that Colin Dick is very good. Don't know about his charges, though.

We use Carlisle's 337 7521

Can confirm Haggart's still there on Morningside Road but not sure if they are still under the same ownership

Just to let you know, I used Carlisles today and wasn't impressed. Suddenly what should be a replacement cord and box to get power to the shower and a new valve for a toilet constantly running, has turned into needing an entire new shower and a brand new toilet. Hmmm....

Thanks everyone.

We had Carlisle's come to quote for some work (a fairly big job) and they wrote back to us saying they were unable to do it - at least they let us know, but not impressed.

We're about to use Celcius Plumbing and Heating to do our entire heating system. They have been recommended to us, seem reasonable and come with strong references. I hoping my trust is well placed!
