Interested in new indoor play area in Hove?

Hello, just wondering if anybody out there in the sussex area would be interested in a "monkey business" type childrens' indoor play area in Hove?

Would have a large softplay area, lots of climbing frames, great coffee/food and seating area and maybe a bar....... if I had my way!! Only joking about the bar, pretty certain we wouldn't get a license which is a shame because these places can drive me to drink!

Could you just post a quick reply back to let me know - Cheers!

My criteria for soft play included parking - I tended to go to soft play to relax and having to walk tired roddlers miles to get there or having to pay loads of money to park also put me off...
I also wanted comfy seats, it to have heating for the non-active adults, decent drinks, choice of non-junk food for kids and clean toilets.
Ideally I would also like staff to be wandering around to keep a gentle eye on children - maybe get the children to wear name stickers?
My two are pretty much past soft play now, but if it was more adult-friendly than Westows, and better coffee than Funplex, then I would go!
Whereabouts in Hove were you thinking about?

Yes I would be interested, the one thing that makes me never want to cross MB's door ever again is that there is a charge for adults to come in. It's such a rip off, I'm happy to pay for my kids but seriously you expect me to pay to come in and spend money in your cafe, bored to tears watching the DC's run around, not on yer life mate! (sorry rant over!)

I agree generally with what above poster has said, especially about having some staff to keep an eye on things.

Decent food at decent prices, clean (MB always has dirty tables as in covered in dirty plates and cups etc and lots of dropped food on the floor).

Offering birthday parties would be good too.

Funny, I was talking about this at school with a mum the other day, she is talking about setting something up in Hove, you're not N & F's mum are you?

lucjam · 03/03/2012 22:38

Just looked at your profile, you are not N and F's mum! Doh! Oh well you're either one of her group that is thinking of setting this up or you have competition!

yes please :)

Would certainly be interested in somewhere that served better food- particularly for parties- than the $hite they serve up in Westows.

I would like it if it had no signs saying 'please don't bring your own food's. I've paid to get there by bus, I've paid to get in. I want to bring my own sandwiches not be charged a fortune for the company's food.

Agree - definitely interested - MB is a long drive -
Would need good coffee, fresh healthy food and be really clean .. Cleanliness (lack of) is a massive consideration for me in places like this -
Parking also essential Smile
Good luck !

nice toilets too, with the majority of loos/basins at child height and just one adult sized.

an indoor play place that has staff that actually like children would help and would keep a gentle eye on them. And also the one thing that really irritates me is, has anyone in these places heard of a hoover for crumbs and all other things and i don't mean at the end of the day, throughout the day. and like other mums have said decent coffee and maybe even half price re-fills.

Sazzle1969 · 03/05/2012 00:14

A big yes from me. Somewhere clean, where I could sit comfortably with a decent coffee.....

Funplex - filthy, been once - never going back.

I am surprised Westows is still open, it is disgusting in every way! Cleanliness, comfort for adults, quality of food, attitude of staff, loos - they fail in each area. The kids love it, but it is an horrendous experience for me!

Monkey business - the baby change room always stinks, I don't think the bins get emptied until the end of every day and the loos are so child unfriendly! Food /drink is passable and standard of soft play is pretty good.

The best one I have been to was the one behind Hove Station, but it is so small so not great for 3yr old boys to let off steam. Coffee was good, but the whole experience was very pricey!

So, yes please - the bar is set very low!
Good luck

Big yes from me, as long as there was plenty of parking. Went to MB last week & was moaning to my hubby that I wished there was one nearer (Patcham would be even better!)

sussextealady · 22/05/2012 11:06

Where in hove would it be, needs to be a big space? mb too far away and staff are slow and do not clear tables quickly, even when it is quiet. nice big space thouth there and comfy sofas nice, food ok, could be better. one good thing compared to westows as mb caters for older children, as sometimes families have a toddler and a 12 yr old so must have football area and activities for older kids with play centre for toddllers.
would need to be more upmarket in hove to offer something better then westows and funplex which can be awful if busy, and food is horrible.
free parking and outdoor area for sunny days would be great.
