Corbett Estate - Minard Road

Shortly moving to Minard Road on the Corbett Estate. Any ideas of things to do for my SAHH and two under fours - can be hard for him being a man alone in the day. We are aware that the Corbett Estate is dry, but where are the closest/best pubs for him to escape to every now and then?

You'l be quite close to Mountsfield Park, which has a children's play area, as well as a café for your husband. Also Manor Park Gardens has a nice duckpond, café and lovely library with activities.

Pubs are, as you've found, a bit scarce, and Catford is awful. The best ones are the Ravensbourne Arms on Lewisham High Street, and the Lord Northbrook on Burnt Ash Road.

Check out the Hither Green's forum and facebook pages, as they're quite a help.

Hi - there is a weekly daddy & baby group at Lee Manor School, Monday's 9.30-11.30am that my OH goes to with DD - they love it as its a good chance to get out and meet other dads. Also check out South East London Dads website.
Also, there is a daddy group at Torridan Road Sure Start but not sure when thats on - can find out for you if you wish.

Hi - the Lord Northbrook does the best sunday roast in the area and is child friendly. During the day time the Cafe of Good Hope on Hither Green Lane is a regular haunt for stay at home parents. Great coffee and cakes at a reasonable price. Manor House Gardens is also a great place to take children to for the palyground, feeding the ducks and icecream!

He should try the Limelight centre on Castillon Road - lots of groups and classes for under-5s.
