Pre-scholl council funded places

Hi,
Trying to figure out how this all works - DD is at a private nursery which is on the list of Council approved nurseries for pre-school places. If we choose to keep her where she is do we just get some money transferred there to pay for the 15 hours per week pre-school time she is entitled to? Or are there limits to how many places they have at each nursery? Obviously I can ask the nursery about this - it's not urgent - but I feel so clueless I thought I'd try and find out a bit first! The Council web site is less than helpful...

You have to apply to the council for a funded place. If you contact your council when your dd is 2 they will send you out the forms for it.
Obviously you can make a request to stay at the nursery you use atm.

my private nursery provided me with the form required for the fees. I wrote which days attended, signed, returned to the nursery and they returned to the council. They then reduced my daily costs by £6 per day which was a few years ago. It was only 2.5 hours daily then as well. Very easy.
