Does anyone know about Fielding Primary School or Little Ealing Primary School?

I would love to hear from any Mums with first (or second) hand knowledge of Fielding Primary School or Little Ealing Primary School.

Though Fielding has an ?Outstanding? Ofsted report, the SAT results look good but not outstanding (27.9 average point score with 82% of pupils achieving level 4 for Maths in 2011). Does anyone here have a view on why this might be, or have anything to say about the school?s academic performance in general?

Little Ealing seems to be the opposite - a 'Good' but not 'Outstanding' Ofsted report but excellent academic results (30.2 Average Point Score, 93% getting Level 4 for Maths and 96% for English). Again does anyone have a view about this school?

My other concern is around the expansion of Fielding Primary school to 1000 pupils and 4 classes in every year group. Instinctively I feel that a smaller school would be easier for a 4-year-old to settle into, but I would love to hear from any current parent who has views on this. The school is already large so I think it would be relevant to know about the experiences of current pupils/parents.

My children were at Little Ealing now at Elthorne High School. All loved there time there but it is currently expanding so not sure if that will change anything. All 3 left with level 5 in their SATs without extra tutoring. Now they're at High School they mix with Fielding kids and all seem much of a muchness socially and academically..

Where is Little Ealing? I'm v. interested in this as about to move to the Lammas Park area with (August-born) DS, so I'm also concerned about the scale of Fielding.

Little Ealing is south of Lammas Park, on Weymouth Ave. It is expanding to a 3 class intake whereas Fielding expanding to 4.

Thanks fyfe65 for your help - much appreciated. I went to an open day at Little Ealing a few weeks ago and it seemed fantastic.

I got a place at fielding and I have to decide so how is the school? My kids are at Mayfield and it is a lovely place, friendly and welcoming.
Please if you can advice me whether to accept or not
