Looking for very part-time childcare in Henleaze

I'm in the final stages of an interview process for a part-time teaching job which would most probably see me needing childcare for my 17 month old daughter (at a time when she is largely asleep!) for 1 or potentially 2 afternoons a week.

Has anyone got any ideas for childcare? We are new to the area and have no family around who could nip in. I'd be happy with a babysitter in their late teens, but how does one go about finding this? Or perhaps a mother's help kind of figure? Any ideas much appreciated!

Hi Red - possible options include putting an ad on the Bristol area of gumtree - it's where all the nanny agencies advertise, and I've seen ads for very few hours on there. You'd have to do a lot of sifting though. Or the childcare section of netmums. And the website childcare.co.uk as well - I think I saw a few childcare students registered on there when I was looking who might suit you well.

Actually, just thought - if you get the job I can ask my nanny if she knows anyone.

Hi Apuski - thank you! Am jumping the gun really, as still waiting to hear back, although DH has pointed out that they run a similar scheme at his school and are looking for more tutors, so it is more than a possibility.

I shall have a look on Gumtree and netmums and when I know something more concrete (hopefully tomorrow) it would be great if you could have a word with your nanny. Hope you're all well.
