Pre-school Bruntsfield

Hi, I am going to be moving into the Merchiston area soon and the primary school catchment is Brunstfield. My eldest daughter still has a year of pre-school as won't start school until 2013. Can anyone advise where parents send their children for pre-school in Bruntsfield when the primary school doesnt have one attached. Thanks

James Gillespies and Sciennes or Lochrin Nursery School are the ones off the top of my head x

There is a pre-school at Bruntsfield, but it is not an official council one - it is run by a parents' committee. I've heard from friends with kids there it is fine, but probably not as structured or thorough in its curriculum coverage as other pre-schools.

My DDs both have/do attend Tynecastle Nursery School, which will be only about 15mins walk from you. We are very happy with it and it has a wonderful garden and outdoor space, along with a wonderful staff. It is on McLeod Street if you want to Google the location.

We also have neighbours whose kids went to Lochrin, and they are equally happy with that. If your DD starts in 2013 she will be in the same year as my DD2!
