New to the area (WGC)

Recently moved to WGC from London and finding it difficult to meet new friends. My baby is almost 7months old and I have three older children too.

Any suggestions would be welcome,

Hi - am moving to wgc from crouch end in london in april and know no one, will be at work part time not thursdays and am looking to make some friends in the area, where do you live? My baby will be 11 months by then. Hannah

Hi I moved up from North London 18 years ago and tbh found it quite hard meeting people bt there do seem to be a lot more young families in the area now so maybe its easier

I would try the NCT who used to be quite active doing coffee mornings etc and baby and toddler groups of which there are loads

The NCT is good and there are also lots of toddler groups held at the churches in the town centre. There are also a number of childrens centres which run baby groups too - creswick, lakeside, applecroft.

We've also just moved from north London with DD (just turned 3). We both still work full time in London and are finding it difficult to meet people.

Particularly interested to know if there are any weekend things going on that DD can join/we can take her to?

Go to west side, avoid knella road areas.

For anyone with young children the local children's centres are good, oaktree is very good.
Best infant/junior school is applecroft then temple woods.
