Hi,

We are considering relocating to be closer to dh's work (currently based in Abingdon and we are based in Wiltshire). DH has a two and half hour commute (1hr30min either way).

We have spent quite a lot of time looking into Abingdon and we both really like it, there are some lovely properties and the schools all seem to be good (although Sam is only 5 months so a lot can change before he enrols at school!).

Our budget is £350K, we would love something with a little character. We love the Swinburne area and we seem able to afford what we want there as well. Does anyone know what the immediate area is like?

Just wondering what your views are on Abingdon and the schools and the general area.

Thank you for your help.

Abingdon is great and I have a friend on swinburne, it's a lovely road. Perfect for shoppinng at. And close to the bus stop for jumping on a bus to Oxford. Nct is really active here and there are loads of toddler groups etc. Pretty good primary schools inabingdoin (secondary schools are not great but you've got years to worry about that!) and you would be in the catchment of a very good one in Swinburne.

The river and abbey grounds are lovely and they are about to stRt work on modernising the horrible precinct.

It's a great place to live with children.
