Who lives in Westbury Park?

Hi there - I wonder if anyone can help. Me, husband and our 4 week old currently own a house in The Chessels in bedminster. We're thinking of moving to Westbury Park however we're struggling to work out its demographic. We've done lots of exploring there at different times of day but it's still hard to asses who our neighbors would be. We're both aged 30/31 - are there many people our age with babies living there? Or possibly Westbury-on-trym but we don't know too much about there. Any help much appreciated! MH

Hi I'm in the Redland/westbury park area and it is full of children and babies! If you are looking at houses you should bear in mind there are plenty of students in the area too.

I live round the corner from gnoomi (and yes, we have met up and aren't weird!).

I was also a student in Bristol. Westbury Park is definitely a bit more grown up than anywhere close to Whiteladies. Saying that, the students blend in pretty easily I think and you see what you want to see, if that makes sense. I was joking with a friend the other day that when I was at uni here I didn't ever see a pram. But there's obviously loads in and around Whiteladies.

Westbury on Trym seems like a similar deomographic to Westbury Park, just more old people. From what I can tell. Different style houses though - more 1930s vs. Victorian terraces.

I'm sill new, so these perceptions might be poo-pooed by veterens.

Westbury on Trym has higher crime, and is more similar to Bedminster, Westbury Park is a bit posher (for want of a better word!), you will find that Westbury Park parents are a bit more Boden-esque! Grin But W-o-T is nice too. Have you considered Henleaze? Henleaze is a bit more in between - a really nice mix of people.

Hi I was born in the house I live in Westbury Park, so know it pretty well! As am 59 now!
We live on the boundary of Westbury Park and Henleaze, interesting reading moments about 'us'.
The area has two good schools infant and juniors, lots of families with young children, easy access to local high streets and public transport, local park.
Also older people with grandchildren.
Jane
