Primary Schools in the West Croydon Catchment Area

Hello,

Does anyone have children attending a Primary School in the west croydon area. My Son is approaching School age and i have been doing my research into Primary schools, I looked at the Ofsted reports and league tables and my head just hurts. I need some real life experiences of people who have daily interaction with these schools and not just stats on a piece of paper.

Would be greatful for your help! :)

I'm in Thornton Heath but my niece and nephew went to Elmwood which is in West Croydon. My SIL thought highly of the school and both the children achieved well.

She would definitely recommend the school to local parents.

Would add though - you need to go and look at a couple of schools and get a feel for them. Sometimes you just know whether a school is right from how you feel when you visit.

Whitehorse Manor Infs/Juniors is very good - outstanding ofsted. They have just gone to academy status (the new type,i.e. they had to be outstanding in leadership and management). Both heads are really good and progressive. Gonville pri is another good one - has also converted to academy status (more thornton heath than west croydon). Ryelands is also good.

We're near Ecclesbourne and Broadmead (just too far from Whitehorse) but travel over to Parish Church in Waddon.
The Crecent is just getting going next to the Brit school - good reputaion so far.
