Anybody have any good recommendations for kids hairdressing salons in the area? My 3 year old daughter is very difficult about getting her haircut and I've considered taking her to Tantrum in Chelsea which is this amazing place that is just for kids - but afraid it will completely blow the budget!

There is a children's hairdressers in Wimbledon, near Merton Park tramstop, is this close enough for you? I have not been (DS hardly has any hair!), but it doesn't look like their prices would be extortionate. They have a car or a plane for the toddlers to sit in while they have their hair cut.

Can highly recommend Trotters on Turnham Green Terrace in Chiswick.

They have a small kids salon area in the rear of the clothing/shoe shop. The chairs face a large fish tank which kept my 2 year old riveted during her cut and blow-dry :)

Try Elements Mini Me in Teddington. A dedicated children's salon with dvd's for kids to watch whilst having their haircut and they give away treats like new hair clips and little toys. All cuts are £15. They get busy at times so would recommend booking an appointment.

I don't think mini me is that great in terms of cut as dd fringe left too long and was uneven at back. We took her to Barbers on waldegrave road where she sat on dads lap with iPhone to play with for £3 and miles better cut.

We took dd1 there for her first haircut when she was nearly 3 as she was nervous and as they were so nice there. She was allowed to choose a DVD, was given a present (she chose a hairclip) and a photo of herself with her new haircut and a sweetie! She got such a great impression of going to the hairdresser we can take her anywhere for a haircut now and she looks forward to it! The haircut she got there was fine but on that occasion the experience was more important.

Cyrus in Hampton hill. £7 for a haircut plus a lolly to keep their mind off it during, and often another after. Is not as flash as mini me, but I know loads of mums in Hampton hill go with their children.

Hi I can recommend Kate she has been cutting my children's hair for years, she is mobile children's hairdresser she comes to the house and her price is very reasonable. She charges £15 per child or less if more children are having haircut. I'm usually organizing a "haircut party" I get a couple of mums together in my place usually around 6 or more children, and that usually comes to £10 per child. Kids love her and I don't have to get through the hassle of getting my 3 children to shop and hope that the haircut will be what I'm after. Kate understands exactly what you'd like and always does a perfect job, she is patient, quick and just brilliant with kids and she even brings a little treat for everyone. I really highly recommend her. Kate 07729395045

minime is a nice experience for them but the cut is pretty rubbish... DD1's hair was pretty uneven, i had to trim bits hanging down on one side after.
There are a couple of girls who are quite good but any of the guys aren't great and not even that good with the kids imo. not bad, but nothing special.

Dd1 has had a couple of decent cuts at the barbershop next to snappy snaps in twick. £7 iirc and they have a car to sit in & box of toys. And the essential lollipop at the end of course

Mini me was a great experience for my two children 4 and 6. I thought the personal DVD players were a great idea, the two girls that cut their hair were really sweet with them and the kids loved the freebies: bubbles and cars and lollies! The haircuts were exactly what I wanted so I will definitely be going back and have told some friends recently that have been and are very happy too!
