Exeter prep schools

Sorry to double post - no Devon MN'ers seem to be answering on the Education board and I have been directed here!

We are moving to Exeter soon. I have DD down for Exeter Cathedral School at the moment as a (much) younger sibling went there (left about 6 years ago) and was very, very happy.

Can anyone give me some current, local views though?

DD is 1.5 - should I consider putting her name down anywhere else?

For secondary (a long way off I know, but relevant as some preps are of course juniors to senior schools etc), we are thinking at the moment (although will depend on her personality obviously) weekly or flexi boarding at Blundells or would possibly consider further afield (i.e. we would look at some dorset schools too I expect, Bryanston et al - but this is unlekely to be honest). Not currently considering Blundells prep though as the benefits of walking to the Cathedral School when she's little outweigh everything else. Or am I wrong there? We would also consider a local day option for secondary(like Exeter - not St Margs or Maynard - I went to one of those and swore never to send DD to an all girls day school) if we felt she would benefit from being at home more. Ideally though, we want the boarding ethos/option, so opinions on south west flexi/weekly boarding schools for the future also gratefully received!

DD is our first, obv, but if we were ever to have a DS, DH def would want him to go to an all boys school at senior (having both gone to single sex, we have oppsite views, but I trust his judgement re boys - I am not bothered, its just girls en masse I am not keen on!)... I think that means that full boarding at Sherborne would be our only decent option in the South West. But anyway, thats purely hypothetical!

Opinions on pre-prep/preps in Exeter please!
