I have a 5 month old baby, and am looking for friendly groups which meet locally to meet new people and make the most of what is going on in the area!

If anyone knows of any good groups or people in the same situation i would be really grateful!!

xx

I'm not in Shawlands but used to be. Check out the Glasshouses in Queens Park. Good place to hide from the rain and the wee cafe does good tea.

Also the Tramway has loads of stuff on that is babyfriendly and there's always lots of interesting 'artsy' people around if that's your thing.

Hi. I moved to Glasgow recently with my one year old (and husband). I work Monday-Thursday, but keen to do fun baby stuff on Fridays. I was thinking of checking out Bounce and Rhyme at Pollokshaws Library tomorrow (events.glasgowlife.org.uk/event/23/bounce-and-rhyme). Maybe I'll see you there?

Ungratefulchild · 05/01/2012 10:56

Bounce and rhyme at the library is good. There are lots of toddler/baby groups in Shawlands.

The toodler/baby group at Kirkland church opposite the Granary in Shawlands is good. Well, my mum friends seem to like it. Sadly, my 7 1/2 month old did not enjoy his experience when we tried it so I'm waiting a bit before trying it again. It also happens during his nap time, so he was a bit annoyed at me for not putting him to bed!

Hi Tootyfruity!

I've heard that Destiny Church is a really good group. I have a 21 month old. We go to gymboree in newlands, although I'm finding it a bit pricey now so may have to find alternative. The glasshouse at queenspark is good. Bit of a lack of things for 5 month age group tbh. I struggled finding things for DD to do at that age!

I've also recently moved to Shawlands / Queens Park and am looking for some little friends for my 8 month old daughter because she seems to be reaching the age of finding other babies interesting. I'm not really up for an organised group thing but if anyone fancies meeting for a walk in the park etc, message me. I work freelance so have random days off!

Just spotted your post about groups in Southside, did you find anywhere? I'm particularly keen to find groups which run on a Monday but struggling to find any!

What age is your wee one? My wee girl is just over 9 months.
