Hi, I am new to the West End (Kelvindale to be precise) and my fiance (who is G12 through and through!) and I are expecting our first baby in May. I don't know any other pregnant ladies/mums in the area and wondered if there are any groups locally? Thanks!

Hi there, I have just moved from the west end out to the burbs! I would recommend www.nct.org.uk - I have just joined but not due til July, but a lot of my friends had joined when they were expecting their first baby and loved it! good luck

I'm also due in May (the 18th) Moving to the West end in January with my partner, our first too!

Thanks Maca2011, I'll have a look! Hi imissbrie, glad I'm not the only newbie! Where in the Westend are you moving to? I'm due May 30th, definitely feeling far away from all my friends(who're in the Borders) especially the ones who already have children and know all the things I haven't got a clue about!

We're starting flat hunting in January and we are looking in Partick, Hyndland, Dowanhill and Hillhead. What age are you? We might end up going to the same anti natal classes at the western, I think mine are going to be on a Thursday night. Well the weathers terrible at the moment but maybe sometime after Xmas we could try and meet up? I'd also like to do pregnancy yoga classes (providing I have enough motivation)!

imissbrie · 15/12/2011 03:28

Also when is your 20 week scan? Mines is 29th Dec, I'm both excited and nervous in case anythings wrong!

pleasemiss84 · 16/12/2011 10:16

My AN classes are on the thursday too! My scan isn't until the 12th, I'm so excited though! I am 27, I was thinking about yoga too (if it ever stops snowing!) It would be great to meet up once you have got settled.

I'm 26, I'm happy you're the same age as me, recently I've been noticing a lot of pregnant people look a bit older than me (mid 30s) and I know its not much older but I've been feeling a bit insecure that they might look down on me for being young ... Crazy, I know, I'm probably just being silly! Anyway, take care and hope you have a nice Christmas! Christmas and New Year without booze, madness eh? I'll be having my one small glass of wine that's for sure!

ValYogaBellies · 07/01/2012 23:08

Hi ladies, I would recommend YogaBellies classes - I started going to pregnancy yoga and then did the baby massage classes after my little boy was born. I liked it so much I ended up doing some training and now teach some of the classes! Definitely a great way to meet other mums-to-be and new mummies. Good luck with the new babies :-) x

how are you all ladies?

pleasemiss84 · 09/01/2012 13:08

Thanks for all the messages, hope everyone had a great Christmas/New year. I've been super busy (getting married!) I definitely need to look in to pregnancy yoga. Hope everyone is well :-)

Baby n You have brilliant classes for new mums with baby calming classes, baby massage and baby yoga classes all in the west end. The classes are taught by Suzy who is a peadiatric nurse and she is great with the babies. You get tea and biccies at the end of each class and a chance to have a chat with other mums and have some much needed adult conversation !!! I have taken my LO to all these classes and I cannot recommend the classes highly enough !!! www.babynyou.co.uk

Hello, I'm a student doing a project about pregnancy and becoming a Mum. I'm looking for women around Glasgow who would be interested in meeting for a chat to talk about their experience for my research. Let me know if any of you would be free to meet for a coffee over the next week or so or write to me if you want to know a bit more about the project first. I'm based around Yorkhill but could travel to wherever suits you. Thanks!

Kyla

Hi there, I'm moving to the West End of Glasgow in early April, to be nearer to my fiances family. I am from Manchester and currently work in Edinburgh, I'm in the same boat and don't know anyone around there who is having a baby at the same time, so scary stuff! I have signed up for an NCT antenatal class in the West End at the end of April. X
