We're about to move to Brighton (near Seven Dials), and would really appreciate some recommendations for good GPs in the area. Especially GPs that you have found to be great with babies and young children...Thanks!

Just been looking at reviews on NHS Choices... The Charter Medical Centre and Goodwood Court Medical Centre in Hove both seem ok too (although opinion varies massively for all of them!). Does anyone have any experience of them, and Montpellier Surgery too? Also, i noticed an article in the Argus saying Montpellier might be forced to close if they can't find new premises...is this still the case? Thanks!

Don't like in Brighton anymore but used to use the Charter medical centre and it was very efficient and the Docs good.

This was 7ish years ago though. Good luck finding somewhere.

HI

I use the doctrs at Park Crescent Surgery/Medical/Health Centre (They've just moved building and I think changed the name. They're good, always seem to listen and take things in and refer you to a specialist if necessary. They are great with children and the last doctor I saw had my little one sitting still and entranced, which is a rare thing! Anyway, it's on Lewes Road, Brighton!

Thanks TimoleonVCH! Sounds good. Any more recommendations (or non-recommendations!) gratefully received!

Zoela1 · 07/12/2011 14:20

Thanks Duritzfan - what a nice offer - we're starting from scratch in Brighton so any recommendations for pretty much anything (nurseries, childminders, groups etc) all welcome!! My daughter is 9 months old. Might see you down there...

Yeah I was at Montpelier for 15 years plus before we moved last year, originally with Dr Van Rhyssen.
Didn't go to the docs much, so can't really comment, but whenever I did they were fine. Had Torbati whenever I took DS.
The midwife there is uhm interesting... very "Brighton" Grin. I had 4 pregnancies there (sadly only one child).

Zoela1 · 12/12/2011 22:02

Lovely, Duritzfan. You are the Oracle! I'll give you a shout when we're settling in... thanks!

Thanks jolter - nice to get another recommendation - sorry to hear you've had a sad time with your pregnancies x

I am looking for a good doctor in Kemp town or on the bus 7 or 1 route. Any suggestions?
