New to Harrogate-looking for activities for child with special needs

We've just moved to Harrogate from Lancashire because of work commitments (and because Harrogate is a lovely place to live). In Lancashire we had access to weekly after-school clubs, weekend clubs and holiday clubs specifically for children with special needs. Can anyone recommend anything similar for an 11 (nearly 12) year old in the Harrogate area, or any other type of venue/activity that has experience of providing care for children with special needs. All help and advice would be greatly welcome. Thanks.

Old thread but bumping anyway. We are in a similar situation and considering a move to Harrogate but concerned about access and support and schools too. Does anyone have any advice to offer?

Hi, I know this is quite old, but thought I'd mention the Making Play Special group, on Tuesdays at harrogate high school, run by the toy library. Knaresborough children's centre also has some good sessions.
