Just moved here myself (although only from 3 miles up the road) and I really like it. There seems to be quite a few things going on in the community so really looking forward to getting to know the area a bit better. Nightmare traffic sometimes though!!

I'm not far from there - and the whole of Timperley, Alty and Sale are family friendly with lots of baby & toddler groups. We moved up from London 18 months ago and love it. In fact everyone I know who has moved up (and there's a lot of us who have relocated with partners in the last year) have said quality of life is better. I've also met some cracking MNers up here through MN Local.

Feel free to PM me. Smile

DH and I moved to Altrincham 5 years ago after living in London and Manchester. We are settled here, we love it, it has everything we need. Nice restaurants, shops, proximity to the City and the M6 (handy for visiting our parents!), very good schools yada yada yada

And most of all it is perfect for our 2.5yr old DS. He was born here and has loads of friends. He goes to a local nursery (Homeland if you need a recommendation) and has a hectic social calendar! Grin

IMO you couldnt have picked a better location to move to! Again feel free to PM if you want any help with house hunting and nursery recommendations etc

Hi all

Thanks for the replies - very reassuring as relocating is a bit daunting

Martharsharbour - as you live there we have just rented a house near Stamford park - do you know that area is it nice?

Stamford Park is lovely, you are right between Altrincham and Hale which is an ideal location, for shops transport restaurants etc.

I'm one of the cracking MNers who have met forfoxsake :) and I wholeheartedly agree. We're in old Trafford not altrincham but it's all great up here - we moved up in march and we don't miss London one bit! Good luck with your move.

Another one of foxy's cracking MNers here. Grin

I live near Stamford Park and I don't think we could be anywhere better. Walking distance to both Hale and Altrincham, the park itself, close to Metrolink to Manchester and motorways for further afield. I've got a 23mo DS and there is loads to do round here.

Either Costa in Hale or M&S Cafe in Altrincham is baby and toddler central.

Feel free to PM me if you want any more advice.

MarthasHarbour · 23/11/2011 09:14

marjorie you are so right about baby central, i got chatting to two mums in M&S Cafe once and we were cooking up a business agreement (it was just pretend, we didnt stay in touch or anything but the three of us had loads of fun playing out our new business idea!!) Grin

bet they were MNers - probably one of you lot!
