Anyone know which week is primary 1 registration week?

Haven't done this before and scared I'll miss out and ds will never go to school
Looked on the CEC website, and the one for my local school, but neither had an actual date, just said November.
Also panicing, as it said I'd need a council tax letter which I'm pretty sure went in the bin as soon as I'd read it last year.
Can anyone offer some advice?

The forms for placing requests can be downloaded from the website from the 14th November. Presumably catchment registration happens at the same time. As far as I'm aware registration does not have to be done within a single week.

Can't remember which week it is but you will start seeing posters about the place especially at nurseries etc. I think it can be any time in November. You can definitely get a copy of your council tax bill though either by calling them 0131 469 5000 and they will send one out or you can set up an online account and I think you can print it off from there.

Thanks guys, that's really helpful.
I just want to use our catchment school, so was blithely assuming he would automatically end up on their role!
I hadn't thought of asking at his nursery, that's a good plan.

It's about the 14th this year. Sometimes it's earlier and other times it's later. Are you already in nursery at the catchment school? If not give the school a call as every school works differently as to how they enrol. Both my children had an appointment with one of the management team to do the enrolments, but other schools have an open drop in time with a cuppa and a bacon roll.

I lost my council tax letter too. Set up an online account and you can print out your statement. It's easy but you need to do it now- they have to send to special code number through the post to access it once you have registered, so it takes a few days, hence the need to do it asap.

Great, thank you for the advice Smile
Have registered online with council, and also phoned the primary. They are registering week beginning 14th, but you need an individual appointment, and I've to phone back in a week to make on. Great to have it all in hand, thanks to the power of mumsnet!
