Hi,
We have set up a mums n' babies knitting group for anyone that would like to learn to knit, knit with others, or anyone who would just like to come and chat with other mums n' babies. The group will be held at the Heart Cafe in Headingley (www.heartcentre.org.uk/cafe) on Wednesdays at 2pm, the first session for an hour and a half. I can teach you how to knit in the group (whilst juggling my baby) or you can have a private lesson at my shop ?The Wool and Bead Studio? in Yeadon. If you do attend the knitting group, you are will be entitled to 10% off all wool/ yarn in the shop and I will give you a discount voucher to use.
All we ask is for a £3 donation towards room hire and tea/coffee making facilities and if you can bring a mat/ blanket for your baby to lie on and one toy for entertainment.
If you would like to attend this group, please let me know in advance as there is limited space, just email me or contact me on 07980 271 966 with as much notice as possible (the Friday prior would be great) to let me know that you want to come to the group however I do appreciate babies are very unpredictable, so if you need to cancel on the day just let me know!
Eve

Hi there Eve

I am really keen on learning to knit. I would like to come along this week. Would that be ok?

I have a four month old girl which I shall need to bring along and I will need to leave at 3 for school pick ups!

Hope that's ok

jbet.

Hi this sounds fantastic, can mums and bumps come too? My baby is due 7th January. I would not be able to come until December when my Maternity leave starts, are you expecting the group to continue until then? thanks

mammainlove · 11/10/2011 22:04

Hello! I would love this, but my baby is now 16m.o. and very active! I'm guessing she is too old, unless there might be other todlers there to play with? X

EveT · 12/10/2011 09:09

Hi,
All are welcome, from bumps to toddlers. We currently have one 13month old so i'm sure she would love a playmate and some other women have kids at school so leave early too...it is a very casual thing, drop in and leave as you like.
I would hope the group is continuing in December, so fingers crossed!
Just bring some toys to keep your child entertained, the room we have is small at the moment, but if we continue to grow we can get a bigger room.
My number is 07980 271 966 so if you have any problems getting there today etc give me a shout!!
See you all soon x

Hello, its this group also open to people who crochet?

Wendyhouse3 · 28/10/2011 11:35

Hi
I would really like to come along to the group but can I just ask/check...

My baby is just 3 weeks old and so feeding times can be a bit changeable! Do you think I would be best to wait a few weeks?

Please feel free to say if you do, she is my first baby and I haven't been to any groups yet so I am not 100% sure what is best but I would really love to meet other mums and have always wanted to learn to knit!

Thank you

Wendy

Hi, yes the group is open to crocheters, but I cant teach anyone to crochet, im just a knitter lol.
The group is open to anyone with babies of any age!!!We have ladies in the group who breast feed still and bottle feed and then older kids too...everything is changeable!! It is totally up to you Wendy if you feel ready to go to a group, maybe give it a try this week and see how you feel. It could be the best time as your baby may just sleep all the time so I can teach you to knit (however my little boy is always grumpy in knitting group so it will be very interrupted!!). Our motto is the more the merrier, so please feel free to come down - my number is 07980 271 966 so just text me if you want to come.
Eve x
