Hi, just wondered what these levels meant in scottish text books etc.

They relate to the old 5 to 14 curriculum that applied in Scottish schools. Now replaced with the Curriculum for Excellence.

Scottish Government website used to have examples of the ages when most children would expect to attain these levels.

Level A was P1-3 Level B was P2-4 Level C was P3-5, Level C was P4-6 Level D was P5-7 and Level E was P7- S2. Some children would complete them all by P7 but it was just to ensure the children were following the right chart sort of thing.

Some students might be at level E while still in primary, other could still be at level C in S2 (it's not different courses iyswim, it's different levels of achievement).
