Nursery allegations

Has anyone been affected by this? nursery abuse allegations

No one I know. Are you affected or are you a journalist?

Not at all. Just a mum in York who has a DD at nursery and therefore feel quite shocked at these allegations. Wondered what others thought is all.

My son also goes to a different nursery, very relieved it's not one of those affected!

Having said that the ofsted report for one of them was only satisfactory, so imagine it wasn't run very well. They've said it's not sexual abuse, so maybe negligence? Or just something like not doing CRB checks. They've not shut totally so can't imagine it's that serious.

My child goes to a nursery associated with the ones concerned with this. Previously my older children went to another nursery also owned by the same person. I have no doubt at all about the quality of care that my children have received. The standard has always been high.
Since the op posted this last month, stories have appeared in the news from the parents concerned - they have no idea what is supposed to have happened. The staff concerned - arrested and suspended from work - do not fully know why even now.
I have no idea what is going on but based on my experience of the group I feel sure that no child has been mistreated.

Pootles - 'satisfactory' does not mean 'not very good'!

Surely they will know what they have been arrested on suspicion of?! I can understand why the police are not able to give details of the allegations to parents etc until they have finished their investigation though. Must be very worrying time for the staff and owner, and of course all the parents.

Sorry that's just what i'd go by. Actually I do now know that I know someone involved - and yes, it does look very much look something very wrong has been going on. Obviously i am not going to go any further into it, and I'm sure there are some workers there that are fine, but they are devastated and I would be too.
