Eating at school

Myson has just started at a new school and they are telling him off for eating with the wrong had

Is he left handed? How old is he?

My ds is right handed but his dad is left handed and uses his fork in his right and his knife in his left so ds does the same (I'm also left handed but use my knife and fork "normally" ) - but the school has never commented.
