Need advice about advertising local charity

Hi there

I am a committee member for a charity called Hillhouse Care based in Kilmarnock. We are a charity that gives out children's clothing, prams, cots, toys, etc to famillies on low incomes. We really need to get better at advertising our service - can anyone give me advice as the best way to go about this? Free advertising is obviously the preferred method, but we are willing to pay if necessary and we get value for money.
Thanks for your time
Kirstin

I would look at printing up decent A5 and A4 posters to put in shops. clinics, nurseries, toddler groups etc, before you look at paying to advertise anywhere.
Companies like vistaprint do good deals on free business cards and postcards, which might be good to leave in likely places.
