Hi there

We live in the north east but we're visiting bro in law in Nottingham this weekend. He has no kids and we have 2 - DS 10 and DD 8.
What would people recommend to do in Nottingham area this Sunday that's free or isn't too expensive for a family of 4? Bro in law suggested Drayton Manor but that's waaay too expensive for a day trip.

TIA

Nottingham Contemporary is worth a look and they do activities for the kids. Wollaton Hall, Green's Windmill, the University Park, Nottingham Castle...?

Oooh thanks. Some nice ideas.
Actually, come to mention it, I don't think we've ever been to Nottingham Castle. Nottingham Contemporary looks interesting too.

There are lots of National Trust properties in the area and they're running a Kids Go Free promotion at the moment (info on the www.nationaltrust.org.uk) so you can get your little ones in free to places like Belton House in Grantham and Calke Abbey in Ticknall. Both about 25 miles from Nottingham.
