Pregnant in Totterdown

Is there anything local to me that I can do/meet etc?

My husband takes the car to work and I'm so tired that the idea of walking all over Bristol for Classes is not appealing. I've been on the internet looking for Pregnancy Yoga near to me but the nearest seems to be Southville/Bedminster which is 2 miles each way and so a bit further than I want to go. Any help would be fantastic, thanx

Also I'm up for arranging meet ups if anyone would like to come over this way for cocktails? (if only)!

Hi there. I think there are yoga classes at the Star and dove pub in Totterdown - not specifically aimed for pregnant women but it may be possible to phone the teacher and find out if you could join in. A lot of classes and groups round here (and in Bedminster/Southville) are term time only though so things are very quiet at the moment.
Swimming is free for pregnant women in Bristol and there are some aquanatal classes you could try seeing if Jubilee pool in Knowle offers these.
Probably live quite near you in Knowle but am a bit out of date as my dd is starting secondary school soon so hope this helps. Would be happy to meet up once school re-starts.
Will let you know if I hear of anything else happening locally.

Thanks crazymum, I enquired and apparently it has to be a specialist yoga class unless you regularly do yoga already. I will look into the swimming though x

Hi Nightstar,

A lady called Raggs has been doing pregnancy yoga classes in Windmill Hill for some time now...www.whca.org.uk/whats-on/ Pretty sure she does post natal too...
Also, I am the voluntary co-ordinator of The Mothers Space at the old Marskbury Road College (www.artspacecollege.com/contact.html)

We're just starting up a bump and baby group on Monday and Thursday mornings and will soon have mother and baby yoga, baby massage and singing groups... Looking to start a birth without fear group too. If there is enough interest in pregnancy yoga classes, we can start those too.

Totterdown doesn't seem to be the best catered for and it can be a real drag having to walk all the way over to Southville, when you've got a bump. Hope you find what you're looking for x
