Mums in Prestwood / Great Missenden

Hello! Looking for other like minded mums in the area who aren't competitively getting their children into every class going! I've been in Prestwood for nearly a year and not having much luck. Been to local playgroups and gritted my teeth and smiled and must have looked like an idiot. I'm 38 (well, I still am for a few weeks), I have a 2 year old little girl, and am 17 weeks pregnant. Please help me before I go insane and become too addicted to cbeebies and start fancying Mr Tumble (not that desperate - yet!) Thanks, Woof x

I don't live in the area but have a friend who does (although older children and suspicious of internety stuff!). Anyway, she used to do playgroups (didn't get friends through that though - I never have either - I'm always the smiling eejit trying to chat!) and bounce and rhyme at the local library. Apart from that how about asking your midwife to put you in touch with an antenatal group or when your new baby is born a postnatal group - I know my friend made good friends through that way. Sometimes you can book NCT refresher courses too. Or through preschool? Sorry not much help in terms of meet ups!

Thanks for the reply - I've booked an NCT refresher course (actually my husbands idea!!) and I met with the HV last week and she said that they organise PN meet ups, so I guess I'll have to be patient! The local NCT group DO do monthly coffee mornings, but they're on a Friday when I work. Ah well, not long (well, 4 months) till I'm not working!
