Ideas for day out in Waterloo

Hi does anyone have any suggestions for places to go with babies near Waterloo station? Any one o clock clubs would be great, or indoor areas.

Also - do you know if the train from Richmond station to Waterloo is on the same side as the street level entrance to the station? Or will I have to heave the buggy up over the steps? (my poor back can't take it!)

What about the aquarium in County Hall?

The train to Waterloo goes from the step-free platform. When you get back, ask one of the sw trains people on the platform for access to the lift. (it's a bit of a faff for them but you are allowed to use it.)

Hi, not sure if babies would like this but its the Poetry library, near Southbank. A library where all the books are poem books only. Check opening hours before visiting though. :)

Walk along river - by eye there is playground/grass area. Loads of cafes on south bank incl giraffe and pizza express which are v child friendly.
Yes you can go direct into station without steps if you walk up to where taxi rank is.
As long as not taking tube it's pushchair friendly.

Aquarium or London eye (expensive) but there is a fair amount going on around south bank for festival of Britain and babies may like just looking at that (art/ entertainer etc)

Waterloo is easy with the SouthBank centre Tate Modern and so on, many days I spent there with dd when she is a toddler

I usually just go there and wander around, but I was there on Sunday and there is a fake beach bit there at the moment - to the left of the eye if you are looking at the river. Has a fake pier, buckets and spades beach huts selling stuff etc. Will be going back there properly with DD soon!

Thanks so much - we went to the Tate Modern in the end - there is a new bit by the cubist gallery for under 5s which kept her entertained.
